Bond Pearce Technology and Innovation Award

For the business best demonstrating how a new technology or new innovation has achieved commercial success or has created increased commercial opportunities for that organisation.

This award recognises new technology and innovative ideas in their widest sense.

The technology or innovation must have been developed with a view to creating new commercial opportunities for the business, to increase its profitability or to exploit a gap in the market and capitalise on it for the benefit of the business.

To compete successfully as a national law firm we understand how new technology can improve our own performance and how fostering innovation within our own organisation can give us a commercial edge and help us maintain a successful business.

The Bond Pearce Technology and Innovation Award champions the role that technology and innovation can play in creating successful businesses in Hampshire.

Judging criteria:

  • The award will be made to the organisation which best demonstrates how the technology or innovation has had or is likely to have a positive impact on the performance of that business.
  • The technology or innovation can be based on the development of a specific project, product or service.
  • The business which enters the award must be able to demonstrate that either the technological development or the innovation has been carried out by a team based in or for a business which is headquartered in Hampshire or the Isle of Wight.
  • The technology or innovation must have been developed or launched within the past three years.

“Winning the Innovation Award at the Hampshire Business Awards 2010 significantly enhanced our profile in the local media and has provided recognition for all the hard work put in by our innovative team.”  i2O Water

KPMG Company of the Year

To be in the running to be named Hampshire's premier company, businesses need to demonstrate an outstanding financial track record, with strong sales growth and a commitment to increasing profitability. The winning company is likely to be a leader in its own market with dedication to excellence in products and services and a dynamic approach to quality and innovation.

This year's KPMG Company of the Year must display the ability to think strategically, keep abreast of new developments both in its own industry and the wider economy and illustrate plans for future growth. Last but not least, it will exhibit a strong commitment to its employees' needs and aspirations as well as contribution to the county's environment through sustainable business practices.

The judges will be looking at the following criteria:

  • Excellence in both products and services to customers.
  • Past achievements and future plans.
  • Financial performance.
  • The identification and exploitation of new markets.
  • Commitment to the training and development needs of employees.
  • Contribution to enhancing Hampshire's business reputation and protecting the county's environment.

"The Southern Co-operative was delighted to be announced KPMG Company of the Year at the Hampshire Business Awards 2010. These awards undoubtedly attract a high standard of entrants and we are therefore honoured to have been recognised in this way. The fact that the awards are sponsored by such highly respected businesses also adds to their kudos.

As a result of winning this award we have definitely received increased recognition of the success of our business with customers, suppliers and the commercial community in general. It has also given our colleagues and our members an increased sense of pride in their business. We highly recommend other successful organisations to enter this year's awards."   Mark Smith, Chief Executive, The Southern Co-operative Ltd

"This award recognises the companies that have truly achieved all-round business excellence in terms of financial performance, strategic direction, people, products and services. Every year the sheer quality and range of entries we receive makes it more and more difficult for the judges to choose a winner, underlining the wealth of business talent in Hampshire."

“The Hampshire Business Awards is THE local business award that recognises operational and strategic business talent. Because of this reputation, winning the award is both an internal and external ratification of the hard work and bold decision making that we have made. The most surprising and gratifying thing for me has been how pleased my colleagues at all levels have been that we won the award in 2010; rewarding genuine success in the current economic climate is good for morale, for PR and for the business community more widely.“ Duncan Payne-Shelley, Finance Director, Novatech

"Quality, driven and inspiring management are critical to the success of any business - particularly within the competitive environment of Hampshire. This award seeks to recognise the importance of strong leadership and teamwork in achieving business success.

As a local corporate banking team, we work closely with customers and businesses, helping them to achieve their long-term strategic plans. We feel the awards are an excellent opportunity to celebrate the high calibre of management teams found within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight."
